Happy Holidays!

Here’s wishing a great Holiday season for you and yours. 2004 has been quite a busy year for us.

The biggest activity has been the building of a new house.  Gregg is our general contractor, as well as the framer, roofer, and helper to our subcontractors.  We broke ground in April and by the end of December we hope to have the stucco on the outside of the house and the insulation and drywall on the inside.  We have a pictorial history of the building on our website – so go check it out at: http://68.118.72.141/.

As usual, Laura has been VERY busy at work.  She’s adjusting to working from home … the biggest struggle is to STOP working, because work is always right there!  She’s been traveling some; mostly to California, but occasionally to Boston and Denver.  Though the nearest airport is 80 miles away (in Eugene), it’s small and easy to get around.

Our dogs Chelsea and Tori continue to be a big part of our lives.  Chelsea’s full grown now at 87 lbs and 4 ½ years old.  Tori has become a full family member, at 93 lbs and 2 ½ years old.  They go with us everywhere. This year they’ve been on trips to the ocean, to the mountains, and through the great Columbia River Gorge. They were also a big help in building the new house….

Laura and Gregg are continuing to play tennis.  Both played on USTA teams representing Roseburg this year. However, since starting the house, tennis has been a background activity.

This fall, both of our Moms came to visit. Laura’s Mom, Carolyn was in Sacramento in October for a synchronized swim meet. She spent a couple weeks with us after the meet. Unfortunately, it rained about 12 of 14 days and Carolyn didn’t have the best Oregon experience possible. Then, in November, Gregg’s Mom, Arlene, came to visit for a couple weeks. She enjoyed much better weather and was with us for Thanksgiving.

There were no new grandchildren this year, however Wendy and Jess (Laura’s niece in Minnesota), had a baby boy, Kellen, in May. Tammi and Steve (Laura’s niece in St. Louis), had a baby girl, Haylie, in December.  Gregg and Laura vacationed with Dave and Emily (Laura’s brother and sister-in-law) at Daytona Beach in June.  We were able to spend some time with Rebecca, Rachel, and Mathew (Skipper) at their home in Kissimmee.  They were also able to spend time with us in Daytona Beach and we all enjoyed ‘surfing’.  Since San Francisco is closer than Florida (468 miles), we were able to get together with Ben, Ilana, and Jasmine several times. They also came up to Oregon and joined us for Thanksgiving.

Hope you all had a great year and hope to hear from you soon!  If you ever have plans on being out our way, please let us know as we love to have company!
